British Council awards funding for Net Zero study of UK and Saudi Arabian dwellings
The School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering are thrilled to announce that our Programme Director for MSc in Net Zero Building Services Engineering (NZBSE), Mahroo Eftekhari, has been awarded significant funding from The British Council for her project.
Entitled 'Synergies in Energy-Efficient Design Strategies for Net-Zero Energy Residential Buildings: A Case Study of Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom', Mahroo's multi-disciplinary project aims to design net-zero residential buildings for Saudi Arabia and UK while accounting for their respective climates.
She comments: "I am thrilled that we have been awarded British Council funding to carry out net zero study of houses in the UK and Saudi Arabia. This is groundbreaking as the climate and the housing types are very different.
Collaboration is key to achieving global net zero by 2050. I'm looking forward to working with high-calibre academics from KSA and the Aeronautical School as this is a multi-disciplinary project tackling the entire system.
This project will solidify the international reputation of º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ for sustainability and delivering net zero building strategies for all climates."
