Undergraduate study
Noise and Vibration Laboratory
This facility consists of two acoustic environments; a vibration testing area and a “soft”, non-reflective anechoic chamber.
The reverberant chamber is used for vibration measures and acoustic measurements which require a diffuse field.
The anechoic chamber has a lower working limit of 100Hz, where above this frequency the anechoic wedges absorb sound and no reflections occur from the walls and floor, simulating a ‘free field environment’.
