Senior Research Associate in Gas Turbine Combustion System Aerothermal Technology.
Member of the Rolls-Royce UTC in Combustion System Aerothermal Processes since 2015.
Specialities:
- Experimental and numerical study of reacting flows within combustion systems and combustion system aerodynamics.
- 0-D/1-D combustion modelling.
- Emissions measurements.
Education:
- MEng Aeronautical Engineering, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, 2014.
- MRes Gas Turbine Aerodynamics, University of Cambridge, 2015.
- PhD, ‘The Impact of Representative Inlet Conditions on Low Emissions Fuel Injector Performance’, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, 2019.
Current research:
Investigating the impact of combustor designs, with a particular focus on cooling and dilution flows, on the production of soot. This is being achieved using both LES CFD simulations of the combusting flow with added soot modelling and experimental measurements of soot within a single sector facility.
Completed as part of SOPRANO (Soot Processes and Radiation in Aeronautical Innovative Combustors, 2018-2020)
Previous research:
Impact of upstream representative boundary conditions on low emission fuel injector performance. Work completed includes: RANS and uRANS simulations of combustor aerodynamics validated using PIV, experimental emissions measurements in a single sector facility and 1-D combustion modelling.
- Member of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Gas Turbine Aerodynamics
- Member if the Rolls-Royce UTC in Combustion System Aerothermal Processes
