Before coming to º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, John worked for Ford Motor Company for 28 years and had earlier positions with Yardley of London, STC and Boots the Chemist.
John graduated from Birmingham in Chemical Engineering, but returned to study, after a year in industry, to undertake a MBA.
At Ford he held various positions in Product Development - notably Product Planning and Business Process Improvement. John also worked for a time in IT as a business process specialist contributing to a number of global IT systems - during this work he was fortunate in being able to travel to Japan and visited the US and Europe many times.
John increased his appreciation of the "soft" skills that engineering managers need and during the latter time at Ford, developed and delivered coaching training to around 500 managers and supervisors as part of a bigger initiative to initiate cultural change.
John has been a visiting lecturer at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ since 2006 - lecturing business modules to MEng students in Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering
