Innovation Driven Enterprise Academy (IDEA) 2022 kicks off

This week sees the launch of the fifth Innovation Driven Enterprise Academy (IDEA) – a six-week extra-curricular summer camp offering talented early-stage students a chance to work across engineering and business disciplines to develop business ideas.

IDEA brings together students from the:

  • School of Aeronautical, Automotive, Chemical and Materials Engineering
  • Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering
  • School of Business and Economics

The programme aims to nurture a talent pipeline for fast-scaling, sustainable start-ups and enhance graduate employability, with students fostering connections between innovation and entrepreneurship, building their entrepreneurial skill set and developing tangible innovations that can be commercially successful.

This is achieved through a range of workshops delivered by academic experts and industry partners, with weekly pitches to º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ staff and volunteers, allowing participants to gain top tips and make valuable connections with leaders from various organisations.

Ultimately, IDEA is helping budding entrepreneurs to create exciting, media-worthy start-ups that will inspire future generations.
