The School of AACME welcomes its new students for 2021
This week has seen a new intake of students for the School of Aeronautical, Automotive, Chemical and Materials Engineering (AACME) taking part in their induction activities, which aim to welcome them to the School and the university.
Beginning with introduction talks, the new students have enjoyed a two-day welcome to the School, involving a scavenger hunt around campus, tutor meetings, and sessions delivered by the School’s student groups, including LU Motorsport and the Women’s Engineering Society. A great way to meet fellow students, the induction activities encouraged the new students to work as teams and to find their way around campus.
The new students also took part in a paper airplane competition, and in groups were set the task of creating and submitting a ‘technical poster’ and ‘Inspire the Next Generation’ submission, which involved working together to produce a short video delivering key messages about a net-zero future to A level students.
