Terms of Reference

  • To work to deliver the University’s Culture and Creativity Strategic Plan.
  • To work to ensure greater internal and external recognition of the University’s strengths in arts and culture.
  • To deepen and increase the engagement of students, staff and campus partners with arts and cultural activities at both University Campuses.
  • To enrich the campus environment and build on its long-standing arts legacy.
  • To strengthen the position of arts and culture at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ on a local, regional, national and international level.
  • To take responsibility for accreditation, maintenance and security of current art holdings on campus and to advise on any future commissions or purchases which may occur.
  • To build regional, national and international partnerships, networks and collaborations and develop closer links with high profile cultural organisations.
  • To maintain a broad oversight of the strategic development of arts and culture and to provide support, counsel and provide expertise to the LU Arts and Radar teams on matters of strategic direction.
  • To ensure working practices and strategic plans are conducted and furthered in accordance with the highest EDI standards.
  • To consider and approve reports on arts and cultural activities taking place across the University.
  • To identify opportunities for the arts to support research and public engagement, and advocate for interdisciplinary working.
  • To provide an annual update to Senate on the progress of the Culture and Creativity Strategic Plan.
