Turning theory into practice

We offer more than just a degree. Our courses are designed to meet the needs of industry – influenced by our experience with hundreds of global corporate partners and the ground-breaking research of our internationally renowned academics. You’ll be working with partners and researchers who are out there making a difference – and can help you do the same.

Our Economics students can extend their three year course to a four year degree by adding a placement year. You’ll have the chance to test out your skills and get hands-on experience in a relevant organisation, giving you an extra heads-up in the jobs market. Around a third of placement students are offered a graduate job with their placement employer.

You could also spend the year studying abroad, or spend six months on placement and six months studying abroad.

Or if you have aspirations to set up your own purpose-led venture, you can spend a year focusing on that as part of our 'Year in Enterprise' scheme.
