Whether you're a complete beginner or someone with previous ceramics experience you'll get to try out different techniques and use a range of tools in this pottery class.
Please note that this class is not open to under 16s.

Unfortunately, pottery classes will not be running in the autumn term 2024. We are sorry for any disappointment this causes. Bookings for the spring term will be opened up to our mailing list subscribers in December 2024. Please check this page for updates in December. The information on this page is based on previous classes and is subject to change.
When
Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.30-9pm during term time (autumn and spring terms) and over the summer holidays (subject to tutor availability). The classes are run in eight week block. It is exactly the same content for both days, attendees choose which night to sign up for.
Where
Room 30, 3D Design Building, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ. This single storey building is located directly behind Edward Barnsley Building on the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ College side of Epinal Way, opposite the main campus.
Parking
There is parking in front of Edward Barnsley Building or close to 3D Design Building. Visitors are now required to register their vehicle and pay to park on campus, including outside Edward Barnsley and 3D Design. There is a flat evening rate of £1 after 6pm.

How to book
Our mailing list subscribers are able to access a priority booking period for our evening classes. Following this, any remaining tickets go on general sale and booking links to Eventbrite are added to this page. Please note that these classes are incredibly popular and usually sell out within the priority booking period. Therefore, being on our mailing list is your best chance of getting a place.
Our spring term 2025 classes are expected to go on sale in early December.
Accessibility
There is step free access into the building. If you have any specific access requirements or anything you would like us to be aware of when running the event, please let us know via the booking form or email LUArts@lboro.ac.uk in advance of booking and we will do our best to accommodate them.
Refunds and Cancellations
We will issue refunds for cancellations (minus Eventbrite fees) up to seven days prior to the first class, but no refunds will subsequently be issued unless a class is cancelled and cannot be re-arranged.
Tutor - Dee Barnes
Dee Barnes is an experienced ceramicist, jeweller and tutor based in Grantham. After learning how to work with clay through the Adult Education Service in London in the 1980s, she's developed a distinctive practise centred on hand-building. She's since made jewellery for Grayson Perry exhibitions, run her own galleries, and continues to produce fine jewellery and ceramic pieces which are available directly through her website and via stockists across the country.
