Painting and drawing classes
Learn a range of techniques and styles in this broad and varied mixed ability art class.
Evening classes
Experienced tutor Jo Sheppard will teach you a variety of styles and techniques in this class, which is suitable for beginners and those with more art experience. Topics covered will include drawing from observation, lino printing and working in a variety of wet and dry media.
Please note that this class is not open to under 16s.
When
Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6.30-9pm for 8 weeks during term time (autumn and spring terms) and over the summer holidays (subject to tutor availability). The next set of classes will start w/c 7 October and run until w/c 25 November 2024. It is exactly the same content for both days, attendees choose which day to sign up for.

Parking
Visitors are now required to register their vehicle and pay to park on campus, including outside Edward Barnsley. There is a flat evening rate of £1 after 6pm.

How to book
Our autumn term 2024 classes have sold out.
We offer priority booking for our mailing list subscribers. The spring term classes will go on sale before Christmas. Sign up to our mailing list by the start of December in order to receive priority booking details.
Accessibility
There is step free access into the building. An accessible toilet is located on the ground floor corridor.
If you have any specific access requirements or anything you would like us to be aware of when running the classes, please let us know via the booking form or email LUArts@lboro.ac.uk in advance of booking and we will do our best to accommodate them.
Refunds and Cancellations
We will issue refunds for cancellations (minus Eventbrite fees) up to seven days prior to the first class, but no refunds will subsequently be issued unless a class is cancelled and cannot be re-arranged.
Tutor – Jo Sheppard
Following an Art and Design Foundation in North Lincolnshire, Jo undertook a Degree in Fine Art at Coventry University, graduating in 1991. She trained to become a teacher of art in 1996 and taught in secondary schools until 2002, before taking the plunge to work as a professional artist. Alongside her own studio practice painting she continues to teach adults, run workshops in schools and work as a participatory artist with mental health service users.
Jo exhibits frequently in group shows and as a solo artist. She is an active member of the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ based art group ArtSpace and the Leicestershire Society of Artists.
