Happy Mondays

Make your Monday a happy one! In partnership with our friends at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Students’ Union we give you the chance to do something a bit different on a Monday night.

Hands-on arts and crafts workshops

Doing something creative is a great way to start your week, which is why we bring you regular Monday night arts and crafts workshops. These sessions cover a different craft/skill each week and are open to all ability levels including beginners. Each workshop is a one-off, so you can just book the ones that appeal to you with no need to commit to further sessions. The idea is to have a go, enjoy spending time with your friends doing something different, meet new people and have a break from studying. Previous workshops have included pasta making, glass fusion, crochet, woodwork, pottery, photography and upcycling clothes.

Workshops have strictly limited places (for º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ students only), which must be booked in advance and cost £5 each. This includes all materials (unless advertised otherwise) and you'll usually make something which you can take away at the end of the night. Great value!

Lots of our workshops are run by arts workers - students with a creative skill they want to share who have been through our short training course in how to run arts workshops. Find out more about how to become an arts worker

Live performance nights

In the autumn and spring terms we hold two performance nights as part of our Happy Mondays programme. These events are a chance for you to showcase your talents or sit back and enjoy the talents of other students. Our live performance events are open to everyone but open mic slots are for º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ students only.

Speech Bubble is a spoken word / performance poetry night featuring a professional poet alongside a popular open mic slot for students to perform their own work. Each year we appoint a Student Co-ordinator to organise these events for us.
