Student Team

We employ a number of students on a casual basis to help support the delivery of our programme. This includes technical support, photographer(s) and event organisers for our regular live performance nights. 

Any vacancies for our Student Team are advertised under the 'Employability and Enterprise' section of our website and on social media.

In addition to the Student Team, there is an opportunity to earn money as an arts worker, running arts or craft workshops for other students. Find out about our arts worker training.

Hi, I’m Charlotte!
I’m currently a third-year Fine Art student at the university. Photography plays a major role in my degree, and working as a photographer for LU Arts has allowed me to further explore and deepen my passion, both within and beyond my studies.
Over the past few years, my love for photography, especially within the university environment, has continued to grow. This has enabled me to refine my skills and pursue even more exciting opportunities. I’ve had the chance to experiment with various techniques and styles, from capturing candid moments, to creating detailed studio shots. As I continue my journey, I’m excited to see where my artistic exploration will take me, and I look forward to sharing my work with a broader audience.

Hi, I’m Aimee! 

I am a 3rd year Fine Art student with a focus on photography and alternative photographic processes. 

I have a love for all things within the arts, including dance, theatre, photography and music. My passion for photography comes from a love of capturing special intricate moments, especially in a performance and action context. I have previously photographed for live theatre and sporting events both within and outside of the university.

I am very excited to be working with LU Arts and to be capturing all the amazing events over the year ahead!

Hi, I’m Kate, a second-year Architectural Engineering student from Ukraine, passionate about documenting life through photography and video.

For me, photography is a favourite way to connect with people, capture wonderful moments, and find inspiration in the world around me. While I explore various genres, event photography is where my true passion lies. There's something magical about freezing emotions and memories in time that people will cherish forever.

My experience photographing Tuxedo Swing performances and other campus events has fuelled my enthusiasm for capturing the vibrant life at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ. As a student photographer for LU Arts, I’m excited to continue telling the stories of our community through my lens.

Hello, I'm Holly! I am currently in my second year of a BA Fine Art degree at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ. Being part of the LU Arts team has boosted my confidence tremendously, giving me a variety of experience getting involved in and working within the arts. This alongside the first year of my course has expanded my contextual awareness in relation to my practice and future aspirations. Within my practice, nature is my primary inspiration, focussing on the impact of our interactions and experiences, whether these are fabricated by human hands or the environment itself. My spare time is spent searching for anything I can possibly climb, as shown in the picture above. If my efforts lead to no prevail, I ensure to bring some crochet with me so that I can still do something I love. I am excited to be a part of the LU Arts team again this year and the new exciting opportunities it will present!

Hi, I'm Yajie. I am currently a doctoral researcher in the School of Design and Creative Arts. Alongside my research role, I'm also a contemporary jewellery artist, with my work exhibited internationally.
I have always had a deep passion for the creative arts, including exploring exhibitions and museums, and engaging in various creative activities. This passion has not only brought me joy but has also inspired me to delve deeper into research, combining my creative work with academic study.
I am very glad to continue being part of the team this academic year, contributing my skills and building upon my experiences working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Hi, I’m Freya!

I am a second year BSc Product Design and Technology student, focusing on creating inclusive technologies which aim to enhance lives.

I am very excited to be joining the LU Arts team this year. I’ve always had a great interest in the arts, whether it’s visual or performance, but dance has a special place in my heart. I love how movement can be used to interpret music, convey narratives, and inspire creativity in so many different ways.

When I’m not busy with design projects, you’ll probably find me dancing, sketching, scrolling Vinted or doing some digital renders. I look forward to working with the rest of the team to contribute to the arts scene at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ!

Hi, I’m Scarlett Ross. I’m a third-year Fine Art student, looking forward to being this year’s student technician and working with amazing people.

As a new student technician in LU Arts, I am eager to merge my creative passion with technical expertise. My journey in the art world has provided me with a solid foundation in various artistic practices, and I look forward to using my skills in this new role. I aim to support my peers by ensuring that all technical aspects of their projects are seamless, allowing for a more profound exploration of their artistic visions. With experience working at festivals, I bring a unique perspective on collaboration and creativity, and I'm excited to contribute to a dynamic artistic environment.

When not in the fine art studio I enjoy various crafts, such as making crochet project’s and working on the pottery wheel I also enjoy keeping up with my fitness.
