Laura Baker graduated from º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ with a degree in the History of Art and Design with Studio Practice in 2003, later pursuing a Foundation Degree in Photography and Video at Leicester College in 2012.

The knowledge provided to her by these courses gave her the ability to develop her practice, as well as enhance her talents and critical eye through extensive research into the production of imagery, especially portraiture and the importance of visual representation.

She decided to start her own wedding videography business from 2016 onwards, going full time in 2021, working with a diverse range of wedding couples and telling their individual love stories. One of her main aims is to celebrate and give visibility to underrepresented groups. Laura said:

"I absolutely love working with a diverse range of wedding couples and telling their individual love story. Having got married to my wife Lisa in 2022 (after a two year Covid delay!) and with what became four years' experience of wedding planning, I became acutely aware that the wedding industry can lack diverse representation in terms of LGBTQ couples, people of colour and other unrepresented groups, who maybe don't always want to follow traditional 'rules' suggested by the wedding industry."

Laura is also very passionate about the environment and has incorporated her love of nature it into her business. With the aim of being as eco-friendly as possible, Laura plants trees for each wedding she films through her partner programme ‘One Tree Planted’, and also powers wedding films by using renewable energy.

Laura has been nominated for The Wedding Industry Awards 2024 as the best Videographer in the East Midlands by her couples, which is the only regional and national award voted for by clients and judged by industry experts in the UK.

Good luck Laura!
