The events took place in New York and San Francisco and brought together alumni to network and to hear the latest news about the University.
Alumna Kerrine Bryan, who gained an MBA from º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ in 2010, met alumnus Lawrence McNeight (Mathematical Engineering 2001) at the event in New York.
Lawrence is the Vice President of Finance at New York City Football Club and after speaking with Kerrine, the pair were able to set up an opportunity for Kerrine to visit a school to discuss her career as an engineer and author.
Kerrine is a Chartered Electrical Engineer, currently the Assistant Vice President of Energy at WSP USA. She has also published a number of children’s books, the “My Mummy is…” series, writing about a range of careers. Visiting PS 38 in Queen’s, New York, she read My Mummy is a Footballer to the children.
The pupils had the chance to chat to Kerrine and asked questions about her career in engineering and writing, having been invited to give the talk by New York City Football Club.
Laura Hutchinson, Acting Director of Philanthropy, Alumni and Supporter Engagement, said:
“We are so pleased to see the success of the USA events, and we are delighted that the connections made between our alumni are proving useful as well as having an impact in communities.
“The University is looking forward to continuing to develop relationships with alumni around the world.”
