At Climate Explorers she worked as a Producer and Communication Manager. Climate Explorers is a Community Interest Company with a mission to highlight climate solutions, raise environmental awareness and promote physical and mental wellbeing through different eco-adventures outdoors.
To promote their cause, they produced a documentary, 14 Days South: Over Sea and Land. The short documentary is about five eco-adventurers bike packing across the UK. It follows their journey of visiting six of the UK’s National Parks and meeting with numerous environment and sustainability experts to discuss the impact of human interference on these landscapes. In addition to their journeys across the UK, the documentary also follows the adventurers performing sea crossings on water bikes.
The documentary has been a success and appeared at several film festivals including Cannes, where it won the Best Short Film Poster at the 2022 edition of the Cannes Film Festival.
Akansha has since relocated back to her home in India and left her position at Climate Explorers.
She shared with us the fond memories of her experience and said:
“Since moving back to India, I left the job, but I needed to share the story to thank the University for encouraging me to do things out of the box.”
Akanksha is now a Research Associate at iForest, where she conducts research and policy analysis.
