Artists Access to Art Colleges (AA2A) is a national set of schemes that provide visual artists and design makers with the opportunity to undertake a period of research or realise a project, using workshop and supporting facilities in fine art and design departments of Higher and Further Education institutions.

This year (2023-24), placements are on offer again at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ.

AA2A schemes aim to benefit students and institutions through their interaction with practising creatives. AA2A welcomes applications from those with disabilities, from culturally diverse backgrounds and non-graduates.

A former member of the project, based at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, said:

The best part of AA2A was the opportunity to access workshops, where technical tutors were so generous with their ideas and suggestions, and the sharing of skills. They made me feel so welcome. Being on AA2A has helped raise my profile and enabled me to work on collaborative projects with university researchers”.

Applications are open and will close on 3 September. All applicants must have at least one year's professional practice. Further eligibility criteria apply. You can find out more about the scheme, eligibility, facilities on offer, and how to apply via the AA2A website.
