Julie’s ski maps become a hit on the slopes
In 2009, Julie Slaughter (Sports Science and Geography 1997) opened The Wipeout Europe business with the creation of the first ski piste map printed on microfibre for a European ski resort. The collection now covers over 100 resorts in France, Italy, Austria, Spain, and Andorra.

The Jinsena Family
Since 1957 several members of the Jinasena family have studied at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ. Five members of the family have previously graduated, and one family member is a current student.

Running for Jarj: Alumni set to run from Bristol to º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ in memory of teammate
On 16 & 17 July 2022, a team of º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ ultimate frisbee alumni will be running from Keynsham in Bristol to the memorial garden at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, raising money for Street Games UK in memory of student, Ben Pocock. The following article was written by alumna, teammate, and friend of Ben, Ruth Lead.

Alumni and friends celebrated in Queen’s Birthday Honours list
Four alumni, an honorary graduate, and a former member of staff have been named in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for 2022. The list recognises people for their contributions to sports, charity, bird conservation, and disability services.

Arthur finds a worm: Alumna designs sculpture for New Blue Peter Garden
Teresa Wells MRSS (Art and Design 2006) is a multi-award-winning sculptor based in the UK. She was recently commissioned to design a featured sculpture for the New Blue Peter Garden, an exhibition at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Alumna marks Platinum Jubilee with sculpture of Queen Elizabeth II
To mark the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, the National Army Museum invited alumna Keziah Burt to sculpt a commemorative bronze portrait bust of Her Majesty.

Alumnus becomes oldest British person to summit Mt. Everest
At 68 years old, Graham Keene has become the oldest British person to successfully summit Mt. Everest, overtaking Sir Ranulph Fiennes, who was 65 years when he reached the peak in 2009.

Success for alumni at Young Innovators Next Step Awards 2022
Alumni Kate Walker and Benjamin Ndubuisi have been given a further boost to their early-stage businesses by Innovate UK, the UK’s innovation agency, through the Young Innovators Next Steps Awards. These entrepreneurs were previous recipients of the Young Innovators Award and have now been awarded a second time, based on their progress and their future growth plans.
