The event on 23 February 2021 was attended by students, staff and alumni and chaired by staff member and graduate, David Wilson.
Lisa talked openly about her time at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ which included feeling a sense of belonging when joining the LGBT Association, meeting her best friends and being the Chair of the LSU LGBT Association.
The alumna gave an insight into her career path which has included working as a Parliamentary Researcher at the House of Commons, when same sex marriage was first debated in parliament, and working on a BBC Children in Need project at the Leicester LGBT centre supporting trans and non-binary young people, a role which she said was the best job she ever had.
Lisa shared that she now does some consultancy work with º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, supporting trans students through her own company, LISA VINE – AVOCACY. CONSULTANCY.TRAINING.
Lisa graduated with a degree in Sociology in 2009.
