Launched one year ago, Sue’s podcast “The Game Changers” features trailblazing women in sport, including º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ alumnae Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson and Liz Nicholl CBE as well as former University lecturer and Honorary Graduate, Baroness Sue Campbell CBE.
Aiming to break down barriers into women’s sport, Sue interviews prominent figures across all sports as they discuss their careers, passions and dealing with challenges.
As well as chatting to prominent sportswomen, Sue is working on a book, Game On: The Unstoppable Rise of Women’s Sport, with crowdfunding publishers Unbound.
Game On will follow Sue’s journey to discover positive changes in women’s sport, and how to ensure that progress continues in the future.
She said:
I hope this book will open more people’s eyes to the fact that increased gender equality across all sport is good for everyone.
In addition, Sue has recently developed a women’s sport network. The Game Changers Collective has initially welcomed 50 women on board, with more than 10 former º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ students involved in the first meeting. Currently meeting online, the goal of the group is to enable women working in the sports sector to build connections and share their learnings and experiences in an informal setting.
Sue, who graduated with a degree English and Physical Education in 1988, is also a trustee for the Women’s Sport Trust and was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s New year’s Honours in 2018 for her work in grassroots sport.
